Some ideas are born around a meeting table. Ours was born much more simply, on the shores of Lake Garda, in Italy.
We were on a family vacation when the first discussions began. The desire to create something together was already there. Then, through conversations, ideas, and probably a few changes of mind, a project began to take shape.
This project would become OverDrive.
A Family Story First and Foremost
From the start, we wanted OverDrive to be a family adventure.
There are four of us, with four different sensibilities, four perspectives, and sometimes four completely different opinions! That's precisely what makes the adventure interesting.
In our home, an idea can be born during a meal, be completely questioned a few hours later, and finally become the starting point for a new design.
We exchange, we imagine, we sketch, we select, we test. We love some ideas immediately, others much less... and it regularly happens that we have to start over.
But that's probably what we love most about this adventure: creating together.
From Basketball to Streetwear
The world of OverDrive naturally asserted itself.
At the center of the story is Oscar and his passion for basketball. 🏀
Basketball is not limited to what happens on a court. It has an entire culture that accompanies it: music, sneakers, playgrounds, big cities, locker rooms, and, of course, streetwear.
This is the universe that inspires us.
However, we don't want OverDrive to be solely a brand dedicated to basketball. Basketball is one of our roots, but our playground is broader: streetwear, sportswear, and a certain way of living and moving.
Clothes that can be worn for training, but also for school, in the city, on vacation, or simply because you like their style.
Shared Creativity
OverDrive is not our only family creative adventure.
Also revolving around us are Les Merveilles des Sisters, with its own universe of accessories and discoveries, as well as Lousea, dedicated to sewing.
Three projects with very different identities, but which ultimately share a lot.
The desire to create.
The desire to try.
The desire to undertake.
And above all, the desire to build something together.
These projects lead to many discussions at home. We talk colors, materials, clothes, logos, photos, social media, new ideas… sometimes probably a little too much! 😄
But behind all that, there is mostly a lot of pleasure.
What Now?
A few weeks after that first discussion on the shores of Lake Garda, OverDrive became much more than an idea scribbled down during the holidays.
The first designs took shape. An identity was born. A collection was built. The website started to come alive.
And above all, the adventure truly became ours.
We don't yet know exactly where OverDrive will take us. And ultimately, that's also what makes this story exciting.
We just know how it started: a family, a passion, a few ideas, and the desire to create something together.
